One Mohammed Snu, suspected to be gay, was killed by his alleged partner, Mohammed Umar, in a hotel room in Garki, Abuja.
According to Punch, the crime was carried out last Thursday, December 4, as the assaulter stabbed the victim multiple times in the ribs with a screw driver.
It is reported that Snu used to be a regular guest at the hotel and on the fateful day invited Umar for sexual intercourse. However, the situation turned violent when the victim refused to pay for the second round of sex.
A source from the hotel disclosed that the two had sex twice, but Snu did not want to pay for the second time, which caused an argument and a fight.
The source, who pleaded for anonymity, narrated how the body of the victim was discovered.
“The man had just come back from a mosque where he went for prayers with his partner when we heard a loud noise from his room and a voice saying ‘ya kuri (please, don’t be angry)’. By the time we forced the door open, we saw Umar standing naked and Snu lying dead on the bed with stab injuries on his body. We immediately called the police and Umar was arrested.”
The police led the hotel manager to the station for interrogation over the incident, which generated an uproar among the residents who gathered to discuss the murder.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Peter Okechukwu, confirmed the incident, having provided however a bit different version of the tragedy. According to him, Snu complained of pain in the ribs and invited Umar to the room.
“In the course of the massage, Snu asked Umar to undress for sex, and from there, they engaged in a scuffle leading to the stabbing of the deceased by the suspect. It was the loud noise from their room that attracted the hotel workers.
“When our men got to the hotel, we found the deceased and the suspect naked. Investigations have commenced and we will soon know what actually transpired behind the closed door.”
It would be recalled that homosexual relations themselves became a crime in Nigeria, when in the beginning of this year President Goodluck Jonathan signed the anti-gay bill, which stipulates 14-year punishment for the violators.

After years of suffering, the woman, known only as Mrs Lin, finally could start a normal life. She has undergone drastic surgery to remove almost 6 kilos of an unnecessary tissue from her breasts.

Lin’s breast began to grow rapidly in her 30s and only 20 years later – when the size became unbearable – the woman took courage and visited doctors at Xiamen University’s 1st Hospital.
Doctor in charge of Mrs Lin’s case said despite working as a doctor for more than a decade, he had never seen breasts as large as hers, saying that her breasts hung even under the bellybutton.
During the surgery – reduction mammoplasty – at least 6kg of tissue were removed to shrink breasts to a manageable C cup. The amount of fat removed weighs almost twice as much as an average newborn baby.
If the operation was not performed the consequences could have been frightening, ranging from crippling back pain, neck and arm pain to headaches, friction rash and a curvature of the spine, breathing problems etc.
The medical term for giant breasts is gigantomastia, a form of a condition known as hypertrophy of the breast tissue. It is a rare medical condition and is diagnosed where the breasts weigh more than three per cent of the total body weight.
The video has also captured attention from International media houses like BBC, Daily Mail, Sowentan Live, Afro Cosmopolitan and many more.

UPDF Soldiers in Somalia
Ten East African nations have launched a joint military force aimed at improving security in the region and supporting African Union’s (AU) missions.
The African Standby Force (ASF) was launched in the central Ethiopian city of Adama on Saturday after almost a decade of planning and preparation.
The force consists of up to 5,200 troops from the African countries of Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn welcomed the launch of the ASF, describing it “a significant development as it demonstrates the commitment by a group of countries to contribute their fair share to tackling security challenges in Africa.”
According to Rwandan Defense Minister James Kabarebe, the military force will respond to security challenges posed by armed and terrorist groups, illicit drug trade, local uprisings, and ethnic conflicts, etc.
In addition, the ASF is expected to conduct peacekeeping operations across the African continent.
“We now have what it takes to respond to these challenges,” said Kabarebe.
The formation of the ASF was proposed by the African Union in 2002 and was supposed to be launched eight years later; however, the date was postponed repeatedly. The delays were reportedly caused by conflicting interests among the force’s member states.
Some of the countries in the region contribute to the African Union force in Somalia.
Uganda provides the bulk of the 17,600 strong Amisom force deployed to stabilize Somalia, a country that has been without a functioning government since the fall of General Siad Barre in 1991.
The other countries with troops in the war-torn Somalia include Kenya, Djibouti, Burundi and Sierra Leone. The UN Security Council resolution mandates Amisom to conduct peace enforcement operations against hostile forces, using necessary appropriate force.

The rights group said on Tuesday that women applicants were required to be both unmarried and virgins, and that the virginity test is still widely used despite the insistence of some senior police officials that it has been stopped.
In a series of interviews with HRW, young women – including some who underwent the test as recently as this year – described the procedure as painful and traumatic.
The women told how they were forced to strip naked before female medics gave them a “two-finger test” – a practice described by HRW as archaic and discredited.
“I don’t want to remember those bad experiences. It was humiliating,” said one 19-year-woman who took the test in the city of Pekanbaru, on western Sumatra island, and whose identity was not disclosed.
“Why should we take off our clothes in front of strangers? It is not necessary. I think it should be stopped.”
Nisha Varia, associate women’s rights director at HRW, described the tests as “a discriminatory practice that harms and humiliates women.
“Police authorities in Jakarta need to immediately and unequivocally abolish the test, and then make certain that all police recruiting stations nationwide stop administering it.”
Virginity valued
The tests contravene the police’s own guidelines on recruitment and violate international human rights to equality, non-discrimination and privacy, HRW said.
Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
While senior police have insisted in recent years that virginity tests for female applicants have been stopped, HRW said a posting on the force’s own website this month noted that female applicants must undergo the procedure.
Women currently make up about three percent of the 400,000-strong force, HRW said, but added the police had launched a drive to increase the number of female officers.
Society is deeply conservative in parts of Indonesia and some still value female virginity highly.
The issue hit the headlines last year, when the education chief of a city sparked outrage by suggesting that teenage schoolgirls should undergo virginity tests to enter senior high school.

Inawezekana unapenda mitindo, unapenda kutumia intaneti, unapenda kujifunza zaidi, unapenda watoto, unapenda magari au unapenda michezo fulani. Orodhesha vitu vyote ambavyo unapenda kuvifanya na unapenda kuvifuatilia. Hakikisha vitu unavyoorodhesha unavipenda kweli na upo tayari kuvifanya hata kama hulipwi fedha.
2. Una ujuzi au uzoefu gani?
Katika maisha yako kuna ujuzi au uzoefu ambao umeupata. Yawezekana umesomea fani fulani au umewahi kufanya kazi ambayo ilikupatia ujuzi fulani. Orodhesha ujuzi wote ambao umeupata kutoka kwenye elimu na hata kujisomea au kufuatailia watu waliofanikiwa. Angalia changamoto ambazo zinaendana na vitu unavyopenda kufanya na ujuzi au uzoefu wako. Ni rahisi sana kuzijua changamoto za jamii inayokuzunguka kama unaishi kwenye enao hilo na itakuwa rahisi zaidi kwako kuwashawishi kufanya biashara na wewe. Kila jamii ina changamoto zake hivyo kama ukifikiri na kuchunguza vizuri utapata changamoto nyingi za jamii inayokuzunguka.

Ventures Africa has launched its second annual ranking of Africa’s wealthiest people at richlist.ventures-africa.com. The Richest People in Africa list remains the most comprehensive compilation of the continent’s wealthiest individuals.
In 2014, we counted 55 African billionaires with a net worth totalling $161.7 billion, a 12.4 percent rise from $143.8 billion in 2013. This year Africa welcomed five new billionaires, four of whom are Nigerian.
Reclusive industrialist, Cletus Ibeto, leads the newcomers with $3.7 billion in net worth. Oil mogul, Benedict Peters, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of UBA Group and founder of Heirs Holdings, Samih Sawiris of Egyptian multi-business conglomerate, Orascom Group, and Akanimu Udofia complete the list.
Key findings from the research include:
- The average net worth of the continent’s wealthiest people is $2.9 billion. The median age is 63 years.
- Mohammed Dewji of Tanzania and Igho Sanomi, a Nigerian oil trader, remain the continent’s youngest billionaires. They are both 39 years old. Moroccan businessman Miloud Chaabi, Kenyan industrialist Manu Chandaria, and Mohammed Al-Fayed, the Egyptian property tycoon, are Africa’s oldest billionaires.
- Folorunsho Alakija, the richest black woman in the world, is worth $7.3 billion dollars. She is followed by the daughter of Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, Isabel dos Santos who is now worth $3.5 billion.
- The most common industries in which African billionaires have made their money are: construction, financial services, oil and gas, manufacturing and real estate.
- Aliko Dangote, founder of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerate Dangote Group, remains the continent’s richest man. His net worth has grown to $25.7 billion, a 21% rise from his $20.2 billion valuation in 2013.
- Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt have the most billionaires. Nigeria leads the pack with 23 while South Africa and Egypt both contribute eight each. In total twelve African countries are represented on the list.
- Africa’s wealthiest individuals provide jobs for almost half a million people within the continent.
Chi-Chi Okonjo, Founder of Ventures Africa, said: “The Ventures Africa Rich List is the most authoritative accounting of individual African wealth. We have been able to do so because of our on-the-ground experience and detailed knowledge of the local African business landscape.”
The list has been compiled using financial reports, by tracking equity holdings around stock markets and identifying specific shareholding structures in large, privately-held companies. The results have been corroborated with investment bankers, realtors and financial analysts to determine proper valuations.
