Regular orgasms can reduce the risk of prostate cancer, a study has found.
Men who ejaculate more regularly throughout their lives lower their risk of the disease.
The researchers, from Harvard Medical School, did not explain why orgasms could lower prostate cancer risk.
However it has previously been theorised that regular orgasms may flush out cancer-causing chemicals in the prostate.
Another theory is that if sperm is regularly cleaned out to allow new cells to develop, it helps stop the build-up of old cells that might be more likely to turn cancerous.
The prostate is a small satsuma-sized gland located between a man’s penis and his bladder, whose main function is to produce a thick white fluid that is mixed with the sperm produced by the testicles, to create semen.
The new study is the largest to date on the frequency of ejaculation and and prostate cancer.
The researchers found that men in the 40-49 age bracket who ejaculate 21 or more times a month reduced their risk of prostate cancer by 22 per cent.

While the researchers said they were unclear as to why ejaculation lowers the chances of prostate cancer, they called the results ‘particularly encouraging.’
The study followed almost 32,000 healthy men for 18 years, 3,839 of whom later were diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Men were asked about their average monthly frequency of ejaculation between the ages of 20 to 29, 40 to 49, and in 1991, the year prior to the questionnaire.
They found that the more frequently a man ejaculated throughout his life, the lower his risk of prostate cancer at all three of these points in time.
This was the case even when they adjusted their results to take factors such as diet, lifestyle and a history of prostate cancer screening into account.
Dr Jennifer Rider, of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, said the results are ‘particularly encouraging’ but should be interpreted with caution.
She said: ‘While these data are the most compelling to date on the potential benefit of ejaculation on prostate cancer development, they are observational data and should be interpreted somewhat cautiously.
‘At the same time, given the lack of modifiable risk factors for prostate cancer, the results of this study are particularly encouraging.’
She added more research should be carried out into the specific changes in the prostate caused by ejaculation, to understand how it reduces the risk of prostate cancer.
The research was presented at the American Urological Society annual meeting in New Orleans in May.

Pope Francis today took part in a Muslim prayer with the Grand Mufti of Istanbul on his second leg of his three day visit to Turkey.
Pope Francis was alongside theGrand Mufti side to side today and clasped his hands for a two minute silent prayer in the 17th-century Sultan Ahmet mosque, aiming to show respect for Islam and encourage stronger ties between the two faiths.
“May God accept it,” Rahmi Yaran, the Grand Mufti of Istanbul told the pope at the end of the prayer.

A study of chimpanzees in Tanzania spanning 17 years found that males that subjected females to long-term aggressive behavior, often including physical attacks, greatly improved their chances of fathering babies with them.
'It is certainly not a happy message,' said Arizona State University evolutionary anthropologist Ian Gilby, one of the researchers.
A dominant male chimpanzee feeds in Kibale National Park tropical rain forest, 354km southeast of Uganda's capital Kampala. Scientists said a 17-year study of chimpanzees in Tanzania's Gombe National Park found that males that subjected females to long-term bullying including physical attacks improved their chances of fathering babies with them.
'Males who directed aggression toward females at high rates were more likely to sire those females' offspring than less violent males were.
'This effect was particularly strong for high ranking males (in the chimpanzee community),' Gilby added.
The study involved an ape species that is a close genetic cousin of humans but the researchers were wary about making conclusions about the origins of sexual violence in people.
The researchers knew from detailed long-term observations of this chimp community in Tanzania's Gombe National Park which ones had mated with one another as well as the paternity of 31 babies born during the study period from 1995 through 2011 based on DNA collected from fecal matter.
'The hypothesis is that females are intimidated by long-term aggression from the male so that they acquiesce or even solicit mating from the male when they are fertile, and avoid mating with other males in his presence for fear of further aggression from the male,' said Duke University evolutionary anthropologist Anne Pusey, one of the researchers.
The aggressive behavior by the males included violent physical attacks including biting and striking that sometimes caused wounds as well as chasing the female and engaging in outbursts in which the male charges and strikes nearby foliage.
Mating did not take place during or immediately after the bullying.
In fact, it was serial aggressive behavior over two or three years that was particularly effective in later securing fatherhood.
The researchers found that females at their time of peak fertility actively sought to mate with the males that bullied them.
The researchers noted that the evolutionary lineage for humans and chimps split some 7 million years ago and that the mating systems for the two species are different.
'Nevertheless, recognizing the adaptive value of male-female aggression in chimpanzees may inevitably help us to understand, and hopefully prevent, similar behavior among humans,' Gilby said.
The research was published in the scientific journal Current Biology.

Kila mmoja wetu kuna vitu ambavyo anavipenda sana. Vitu hivi vinaweza kuwa ni vipaji vyako au ni vitu ambavyo umetokea kuvutiwa navyo na hivyo kupenda kuvifuatilia. Inawezekana unapenda mitindo, unapenda kutumia intaneti, unapenda kujifunza zaidi, unapenda watoto, unapenda magari au unapenda michezo fulani. Orodhesha vitu vyote ambavyo unapenda kuvifanya na unapenda kuvifuatilia. Hakikisha vitu unavyoorodhesha unavipenda kweli na upo tayari kuvifanya hata kama hulipwi fedha.
2. Una ujuzi au uzoefu gani?
Katika maisha yako kuna ujuzi au uzoefu ambao umeupata. Yawezekana umesomea fani fulani au umewahi kufanya kazi ambayo ilikupatia ujuzi fulani. Orodhesha ujuzi wote ambao umeupata kutoka kwenye elimu na hata kujisomea au kufuatailia watu waliofanikiwa. Pia orodhesha uzoefu wowote ambao umewahi kuupata kwa kazi ambazo umewahi kufanya, iwe ni ajira kujiajiri au hata kujitolea.
3. Watu wanaokuzunguka wana matatizo gani?
Angalia jamii inayokuzunguka ina matatizo au changamoto gani ambazo watu wako tayari kulipa kama kutakuwa na suluhisho. Angalia changamoto ambazo zinaendana na vitu unavyopenda kufanya na ujuzi au uzoefu wako. Ni rahisi sana kuzijua changamoto za jamii inayokuzunguka kama unaishi kwenye enao hilo na itakuwa rahisi zaidi kwako kuwashawishi kufanya biashara na wewe. Kila jamii ina changamoto zake hivyo kama ukifikiri na kuchunguza vizuri utapata changamoto nyingi za jamii inayokuzunguka.
4. Angalia biashara nyingine zinazokuzunguka.
Baadha ya kujua changamoto zinazowakabili watu kwenye jamii yako angalia biashara ambazo zinafanyika kwenye eneo hilo ambazo zinajaribu kutatua changamoto hizo. Jifunze biashara hizo kwa undani sana, jua uimara wao uko wapi na mapungufu yao yako wapi. Jua ni vitu gani ambavyo wanakosa na wewe unaweza kuvitoa kwa ubora wa juu sana. Pia jua ni malalamiko gani ambayo wateja wanatoa kwenye biashara hizo au ni vitu gani wateja wanataka lakini wanakosa.
5. Kamilisha wazo lako la biashara lenye ubunifu mkubwa.
Baada ya kuorodhesha vitu ambavyo unapenda kuvifanya na kuorodhesha ujuzi au uzoefu uliowahi kuupata, changanya vitu hivi viwili na uone ni jinsi gani watu wanaweza kukulipa kwa kitu kimoja unachopenda kufanya na una ujuzi au uzoefu fulani. Baada ya kuamua kitu kimoja ambacho utakifanya na kujiridhisha kwamba watu wanaweza kukulipa kwa kufanya kitu hiko angalia matatizo au changamoto ambazo zinawakabili watu wanaokuzunguka. Angalia jinsi ambavyo kitu ulichoamua kufanya kinaweza kutatua matatizo au changamoto hizo. Angalia wanaofanya biashara kama hiyo ambayo unayotaka kufanya wana ubora gani na mapungufu gani.
Baada ya yote haya sasa unaweza kukamilisha wazo lako la biashara kwa kuweka vitu tofauti na wale wanaofanya biashara hiyo. Kuwa mbunifu na weka utofauti ili uweze kupata wateja wengi zaidi na kufanikiwa kupitia biashara hiyo.
Kwa kutumia njia hizo tano hapo juu unaweza kupata wazo bora kabisa la biashara. Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN)
Nigeria’s touted Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has controversially prophesied of death of another Southern African leader.
This comes at a time when he was quoted to have prophesied the death of Zambian President Michael Sata.
A report carried by Zimeye revealed that, an official TB Joshua journalist who quoted from the Prophet of the prophecy.

“Following the death of President Michael Sata last month, the ruling Patriotic Front has reportedly been engulfed in a succession wrangle, a development that appears to lend some credence to a prophecy made early this year by controversial Nigerian clergyman Prophet TB Joshua.
On February 9 this year, the Nigerian cleric spoke in a church service broadcast live via popular Christian television station Emmanuel TV that there would be succession disputes in two Southern African nations due to illness and death of sitting presidents. He however never mentioned the names of those countries.
“Two of the nations there (Southern Africa) will face a leadership tussle because of sicknesses and disease,” the clergyman told his fully packed church based in Lagos.
Further, Joshua warned leaders in general to desist from playing politics when it comes to the things of God, stressing the repercussions were severe. “When it comes to religion and Christianity – don’t play politics. You can’t play politics with God unless you want to destroy yourself. Politics is a game but there is a limit.”
Although Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) is yet to confirm if the prophecy in question was refereeing to Zambia, some Zambians think the prophecy was directed at Zambia and its neighbouring countries.”
TB Joshua has over years been making headlines having had his prophecy of a South African President to die come to pass of Malawi leader Bingu wa Mutharika in 2012.
